Vologda is the same age as Moscow, the administrative, industrial and cultural center of the Vologda region. The date of foundation of the city of Vologda is 1147. Oil, lace and carved palisade are the brands that made Vologda world famous. To this day, Vologda oil is made according to old traditional recipes, with that very special delicate nutty flavor. And in 2017, Vologda for the first time held the "Oil Feast" - a gastronomic festival, treating guests and residents of the city not with pancakes with butter, but with butter and pancakes.
