Jewish Museum and Center of tolerance

The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center was opened in 2012; it is based in the building of the former Bakhmetyevsky garage, a landmark of the constructivist architecture. The museum’s exhibition space is interactive - visitors get to know the history of the Russian through panoramic cinemas, audiovisual installations, interactive screens that are based on unique photo and video archives, documents and interviews. The temporary exhibitions space changes completely depending on the subject of the exhibition, transforming from a classical gallery into a museum of modern art. The educational program of the museum consists of public lectures, discussions and conferences, activities of the Tolerance Center and Children center. The Avant-garde center of the Jewish Museum conducts lectures on the history and artists of the avant-garde, talks about its most significant works and researches supporting the cultural significance of this movement.
